David Grant
David is a graduate of Montana State University in Bozeman and holds a BS in anthropology. A field archaeologist in Montana for many years, he has a broad knowledge of prehistoric and contemporary Northern Plains Indians. A Montana and Western historian, he can teach you about anything from western mining history to local current events affecting our wildlife and national parks. David has been exploring and studying Yellowstone’s geography, geology, and wildlife since 1984. As a professional Yellowstone guide and naturalist, he has a very sharp eye for spotting park wildlife, knows the roads and facilities and how to best navigate the park during the busy summer season. David has safely and successfully guided hundreds of satisfied guests since starting the business in 2008. David’s other hobbies include tending to his beloved landscape trees, stone masonry, fishing and a love for classic Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
Kiyomi Grant
Kiyomi Grant, a native of Kyushu, Japan, is a nature and animal lover to the core. A public school teacher for 22 years, Kiyomi has a passion for learning and education. Kiyomi came to Montana State University on a sabbatical in 1990 and fell immediately in love with Montana, Wyoming, and Yellowstone. She has been a fulltime resident of Livingston, Montana since 2003. Kiyomi founded Yellowstone Horizons in 2008 to introduce Japanese guests to the natural wonders of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The response has been overwhelming! Yellowstone Horizons has successfully hosted over a thousand satisfied guests under her excellent management. Kiyomi is punctual and responsive, taking care to outline a smooth and safe guest experience. Our guest books, filled with warm regards and gracious comments, are a testament to her standards of service and satisfaction. Her record is perfect! Kiyomi is a dog lover and dedicates the largest part of her time to the love, care and spartan training of Layla, our two year old German Shepherd.
Kai Grant
Kai Grant is currently enrolled in the wildlife biology program at Montana State University in Bozeman. When Kai is not in school or sleeping, he is fishing! Practically born with a fly rod in his hand, Kai spends his time tying his own flies and chasing trout on the Yellowstone river. Kai doesn’t quit fishing just because its winter. He drives the snow drifted and icy backroads of Montana in search of the best ice fishing holes. At just 22, Kai has more experience in the wilds of Montana than people twice his age. Kai’s hobbies include skiing, hiking and all outdoor activities.
